Real-Time Interpolation for 8-Megapixel RecordingSANYO's original algorithm uses a pixel-interpolation filter to convert the 4 megapixels on the CMOS to the recorded equivalent of 8 megapixels (i.e. 3264 x 2448 pixels)

Face Chaser Function for Stills and Videos

The Face Chaser function works for both still and motion images. The faces of up to 12 persons in the frame are instantly detected, and the focus and exposure are controlled to match the central subject.
Note: Faces may not be detected as expected, depending on the subject and shooting conditions.

Wide Dynamic Range for Stills

SANYO’s proprietary technology reduces over-saturation of dark and light areas. It allows for smooth tonal gradations by combining two images—one of which prioritizes the exposure of dark areas, the other of which prioritizes the exposure of bright areas—into a single photo. By optimizing the respective gradation of dark and light areas, excellent contrast is achieved. You get sharp images with a wide dynamic range.

High-Sensitivity ISO 3200 Stills

With the HD1010, you can shoot 4-megapixel still images at the equivalent of ISO 3200. This makes it easy to get great shots in situations where blurring commonly occurs, such as in dimly lit rooms or at night.
